Summer doesn't always have to mean "makeup meltdown"

Many people completely avoid wearing makeup in the summer out of fear of having a "makeup meltdown." Trust me, living in Florida, I know exactly how frustrating this can be.

I have tested countless beauty products over the last couple of years, and I have finally found my Holy Grail summer makeup products. The combination of these items has saved me from that dreadful meltdown we often get in 90+ degree weather.

Using these products, I no longer experience makeup fading. From when I put them on in the morning to when I get home at night, my makeup doesn't budge.

Here are my favorite makeup products for the summer months:

Laura Mercier Radiance Foundation Primer

This primes my face for makeup while also giving my skin a healthy, summery glow.

Shiseido Sun Protection Liquid Foundation with SPF 42

This is, hands down, my all-time favorite foundation. It has a high SPF, so it's perfect for the summertime. It has light to medium coverage and is very lightweight, so you won't feel your makeup sitting on your face throughout the day. The thing I like most about it though? It lasts all day long, no matter how hot it may be.

NARS Bronzing Powder in "Laguna"

This is the perfect bronzer for my skin. It's subtle and natural, yet warms up my complexion. It has great lasting power too!

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in "Tipsy"

I am obsessed with all of the Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes (I own six of them), but this is my favorite for summer. It's a bright coral color with no shimmer, so it's more natural-looking. And when they say "12 hours," they mean it. This blush does not budge (until you take it off, of course).

 

Too Faced Shadow Insurance Lemon Drop

This eyeshadow primer corrects any discoloration you may have on your eyelids and ensures that your eyeshadow will last all day long.

 

I have been keeping it very simple on my eyes lately with a little bit of eyeshadow and mascara. My go-to eyeshadow has been "Virgin" from the Urban Decay Naked palette. This light, shimmery pink is perfect for summer and really brightens up the eyes.

Rimmel London Scandal'eyes mascara 

This has been my favorite for the past few months, so much so that I repurchased it (that rarely happens)! It volumizes and lengthens, which is perfect for me because I have extremely short lashes.

And the thing that seals everything together:

Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray

I spray this on my face after I'm done with everything else. This sets all of my makeup in place and makes it last all day (or all night). Be sure to shake it well in order to activate its cooling technology.
